Margeaux Cannon, Ph.D. is a post-doctoral fellow in psychology at the Brattleboro Retreat and a graduate of the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Margeaux received her BA in Psychology and Exercise Science from Skidmore College, and her MS in Counseling Psychology from UAlbany.

 

Before pursuing her Ph.D., Margeaux worked at the University of Pennsylvania’s Positive Psychology Center as a Project Manager for Resilience Programs. During her doctoral training, Margeaux was a course instructor and conducted research on topics such as harm reduction approaches to college drinking and risk assessment for prescription opioid misuse among patients with chronic pain. She also worked as a therapist and received supervision at UAlbany’s Psychological Services Center and Career Services Center, the Albany Stratton VA, and MindWell Center in Ithaca, NY.

 

Margeaux has experience working with adults and couples with stress, grief, depression, anxiety, complex trauma, OCD, personality disorders, career issues, relationship conflict, and problems with addictive behaviors including substance use. At the Brattleboro Retreat, Margeaux works with outpatient clients in the Anna Marsh clinic and on adult inpatient units providing assessment and SUD consultations and leading recovery groups.
