Marley Balasco (she/her), M.A., is a doctoral psychology intern at the Brattleboro Retreat and a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology at Springfield College. She received her MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University. She earned her BA at Norwich University.
Marley has received training and supervision across a myriad of treatment settings including a wilderness therapy program, community mental health clinics, a residential program, university counseling centers, and an outpatient adolescent medicine program. She particularly values opportunities to collaborate as a member of an interdisciplinary team to facilitate more compassionate and effective care for adolescents and families in crisis.
As a clinician, Marley integrates relational psychodynamic and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) within an intersectional framework. She maintains a position of empathy and curiosity as an invitation to practice self-observation and commit to positive change. Her clinical and research interests are broadly focused on the experiences of adolescents who struggle with the residual impact of trauma, identity-based oppression, anxiety, and depression.
