Dr. Greene trains in many therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed therapies, and decreasing symptoms of mental health diagnoses due to other medical disorders.
Throughout Dr. Greene’s professional career, she has focused on studying the intersection of mental health diagnoses (e.g., anxiety, depression), substance use disorders (e.g., alcohol use disorder, cannabis-related disorders, etc.) and neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ADHD, specific learning disorders, and autism spectrum disorders).
In addition, Dr. Greene continues her focus on women’s issues and those seeking assistance with exploring or living on the continuum of gender identities and sexual orientation. She works with adults, children, and families.
Dr. Greene graduated from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1986. From the Harvard Graduate School of Education she holds a 1992 Master of Education and 1993 Certificate of Advanced Study both with specialties in Reading and Language. In 2002 Dr. Greene received her Ph.D. through UMass, Amherst in a joint APA-approved program in Counseling and School Psychology. Her internship was completed at the Brattleboro Retreat and her post-doctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital. Dr. Greene joined the Brattleboro Retreat November 2021.
